Privacy & Security

112dB takes the privacy and security of your personal data very seriously. We do not sell, transfer, or disclose personal data to any third party except when necessary to process a transaction or to comply with applicable laws or valid legal processes. We take all possible measures to keep your personal data secure.

Security

The 112dB website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Nowhere we store your passwords unencrypted, your credit card information is not stored anywhere on our servers, and transactions are enacted using SSL encryption through PCI standard compliant gateway.

When purchasing online using your credit card, all of your information is entered into a SSL secure web page. Your information is then SSL-encrypted and sent directly to our credit card provider's network, where your card and transaction is authorized and approved. Your credit card information is not stored on our servers.

What information do we collect?

Before you purchase at our webstore we ask you to sign up for an account. The information that we ask you to fill in is your name, address, country, and email address. Filling in a company name and/or VAT number is optional. We ask for this information for several reasons. Your email address is necessary to send you the license you purchased. Because the license is tied to you personally, we ask for your name. We need your address and country to prove to our tax office that we pay our taxes correctly. The VAT we need to pay depends on the country of the customer. For obvious reasons we also keep records of all transactions. If you access your account you can see exactly what information we have on you on file (although for convenience a few details have been left out, such as the exact time of purchase). You can change your personal details here as well. If you would like to remove your account entirely, we will remove it for you on request. This will not remove your information from our transaction records however. We are required by law to keep those for a minimum of ten years.

Newsletter

If you sign up for our newsletter we save your e-mail address to send you the newsletter. You receive the newsletter only if you have subscribed to it. Unsubscribing from the newsletter is possible at any time. To do so, please click on the link at the end of every newsletter.

Update notifications

When you buy a plugin at our webstore we will ask you if you want to be notified of updates of the product. You can change this at any time in your account.

Cookies

We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small pieces of information saved on your computer by your browser. We collect several types of cookies:

Use of our webstore requires that your computer accepts a session cookie (a cookie that is automatically deleted as soon as you leave our website). This session cookie contains a session ID number which identifies the visitor to the store, as separate from other visitors. The session cookie contains no personal identity information. It expires when you leave our website or 24 minutes after your last 'click'.

The session ID is used only to recognize what a visitor has done during their visit to the store. This includes things like: whether the visitor has put something in their shopping basket, whether they have logged in. The session ID allows you to proceed through checkout.

Our forum uses cookies to store your login information so you don't have to re-enter your password each time you visit our site.

We use Awstats to collect statistical data. This program generates and stores a log for each visit to our website. It processes and analyzes the log files to create for us reports and graphs of the number of website visits.

In addition we make use of third-party cookies (cookies that are set by a website other than the one you are currently on) from Google Analytics to analyze how users use the site.

Visitor behavior information is collected in anonymous form and transmitted to Google. Google will process the collected data to enable us to evaluate visitors' use of the website.

We will never (and will not allow any third party to) use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any personally identifiable information of visitors to our site. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. Neither we nor Google will try to link an IP address with the identity of a computer user.

How do I turn of cookies?

If you do not wish to accept cookies, you can set your computer to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being stored. The Help feature on most browsers will tell you more about these functions. Please understand that certain areas of our website will not function properly if you set your browser not to accept cookies.

Most browsers will allow you to disable third party cookies only. This will preserve the functionality of our website, and only block the cookies that are sent to Google.
