Live 8.1.1, Vista and Redline Reverb Trouble
« on: March 06, 2010, 07:57:36 PM »
I downloaded the demo a few days ago and updated Ableton Live at the same time. I have found that Live isn't even recognising that the vst dll is installed in the VST Folder. I have performed multiple reinstalls but no luck yet. And yes I have checked to see if the the installer put the the dll in the folder and it has. Any ideas?

On a not quite related note I did find it odd that using the default installation the installer would only select the RTAS version and not the VST. Funny to me because I've only ever used Cubase and Live.

If you could either post or send the contents of Start > All Programs > 112dB > Redline Reverb > Troubleshooting > Error log that might give me some idea of what's going wrong.  There shdn't be any inherent incompatibility at work since the exact same combo works fine here.

Why the installer didn't recognize the VST hosts on your system I'm not sure but I'll look into it.

Take care,

Sorry for taking so long. I just got a reliable dsl connection.

I have downloaded the new build and Live still doesn't recognise the Reverb plugin. Funny the EQ plug works fine. Sounds fantastic btw.

I'm still on 8.1.1 but I will be upgrading to the new Live build today and I'll try it again then.

I'm running a core2 duo with Vista as well.

Here's the error log file too:

Hmmm... I'm not sure what's happening exactly but there's two things you could try.  First run the uninstaller (from Start > All Programs > 112dB > ...) and then try installing the new build again.  If that doesn't help, please try running Live in Administrator mode and see whether that changes anything.

Let me know what that brings!

Well something happened. Uninstalled Reverb then reinstalled with the lastest version. Then ran Live in Admin mode. Live acknowledged the reverb existed this time during its load up but the reverb still failed to show up in the plugin list.

Weird.  Could you post or email the error log as before?

Thanks,
