Fixed Latency mode for PT LE/MP users!
« on: October 05, 2009, 12:35:33 PM »
I've experienced that RLeq doesn't generate the same amount of latency, it is variable for each instance of the plug-in.
It's very noticeable on drum tracks, and the difference seems to be so subtle that no flams occurs...but a comb-filter effect.

So, if a "fixed latency" mode can be implemented, ProTools users will be more satisfied with this EQ...it sounds amazing, but creates to many problems, from intensive use of CPU to stability issues...i wish you consider my request.

Best regards

Giuseppe

For some reason the latency compensation is an ongoing headache.  There is a 1.0.3 beta build available that solves the issue on our test rigs, so if you could give it a try and see whether it helps...?

In any event please report back here & we won't rest until it's 100% fixed!

The plug-in seems to be more efficient with the 1.0.3 update...the amount of latency increased by double, but everything works fine.
Now i notice another bug...when i use Redline EQ in AS mode, when I click "process" Protools Shut-Down!!! This is a very  painfull bug!!!

Best Regards!! And sorry for my bad english

As I stated in a different thread, it kind of surprises me that it loads as an AS plugin at all--we currently support RTAS only?  Anyway I'll look into this, AS support was on our todo list anyway. :)

Thanks for reporting,

That's what I'd like to understand as well. :)

But anyway, we've already put some work into AS support so it shdn't be that much longer... I'll see if we can get it ready in time for the next update.

Take care,

Latency is showing as 4096 in Pro Tools 8.0.1.....why does the EQ have all this latency but not the Reverb?

Simply because it is an EQ and not a reverb. :)

Some DSP processes require latency in order to work, some don't--and linear-phase (or minimum-phase, or any non-standard-phase) EQ is one such process.  You'll find that all such EQs do.  I would prefer no latency as well but that's just the way it is.
